Programs

Halcyon Pastures offers the following programs suitable for the pleasure rider to those equestrians with competition goals. Programs are multi-disciplinary with mounted and unmounted options available. The Tiny Tots program begins at age 3 and weekly lesson enrollment is offered to equestrians ages 6 and up. For weekly lessons, individual consideration is given on a case-by-case basis. We have had riders enter our lesson (and show!) program as early as age 4.

Our progression for young equestrians that begin in our program is Tiny Tots > Lessons > Synergy Riding Academy > Show Team ~ Leasing
Mission Statement
  1. Striving to create safety conscious and effective equestrians with strong leadership and communication skills.
  2. Treating each equestrian as an individual by customizing a program to their unique needs, goals, and desires.
  3. Starting from the humble beginning of basics regardless of age, discipline, or experience level.
  4. Emphasizing horsemanship skills built off a foundation of respect, kindness, love, with an understanding of the animal both in and out of the saddle.
  5. Building the next generation of compassionate equestrians that never hesitate to put the animal first.
Lessons
We have numerous lesson packages available to suit every equestrian's needs both in and out of the saddle. As soon as a mounted lesson student is able to safely retrieve, groom, tack up, untack, and turn the horse out unassisted, ride time increases from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. For more information on the Lessons, please visit the page entitled 'LESSONS' using the dropdown menu on 'PROGRAMS' in the navigational bar above.
Tiny Tots
Fueled by popular demand, this program is geared towards equine enthusiasts ages 3 to 6! This (3), (6), or (8) session punch card to be used within 6 months of purchase gives Tiny Tots the opportunity to explore the equine world in 30 minute sessions at a time. They are able to enjoy a positive and hands on introduction to ponies and smaller horses in a fun, low pressure, and age appropriate environment. For more information on Tiny Tots, please visit the page entitled 'TINY TOTS' using the dropdown menu on 'PROGRAMS' in the navigational bar above.
Synergy Riding Academy
For mounted students, an invitation to the Synergy Riding Academy is extended once the student is able to effectively steer at the walk and trot in addition to possessing an understanding of posting diagonals. For unmounted students, an invitation to the Academy is extended from day one! For more information on the Academy, please visit the page entitled 'ACADEMY' using the dropdown menu on 'PROGRAMS' in the navigational bar above.
Show Team
Our Show Team competes locally in a variety of disciplines including both mounted and unmounted classes. We're very lucky to have a variety of showing opportunities located around our farm throughout the year. An invitation to our Show Team is extended to Synergy Riding Academy members once they have achieved a minimum of their Level 1. For more information on the Show Team, please visit the page entitled 'SHOW TEAM' using the dropdown menu on 'PROGRAMS' in the navigational bar above.
Leasing
This program is for Synergy Riding Academy members ready for a glimpse of horse ownership who have achieved a minimum of their Level 2 in the program. We off quarter, half, or full leasing on one of our faithful lesson horses or we're able to look elsewhere to suit the rider's needs. The student is involved in every aspect of the horse's life such as tack selection, health checks, nutrition, and farrier/veterinary care. This provides not only a feasibility study for owning a horse but also an in-depth review of essential horsemanship skills. For more information on Leasing, please visit the page entitled 'LEASING' using the dropdown menu on 'PROGRAMS' in the navigational bar above.
